A day or two just won’t do when it comes to exploring Mystic. This seaside port will require at least a week! Mystic is full of things to see and do for the entire family. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Mystic is accessible from I-95, exit 90. There are several national chain motels including Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Hilton and Ramada Inn as well as a number of fine locally owned establishments. Old Mystic Motor Lodge and The Seaport Motor Inn are two of the better ones.

For fast food, look around the I-95, exit 90 area. Most of the national chains are located here. For great local fare try Bravo Bravo (20 Main Street) in the Whaler’s Inn or the Flood Tide Restaurant located in the Inn at Mystic. The Steak Loft in Old Mystic Village is a nice, casual dress, family restaurant worth a visit.

The Mystic area is loaded with things to see and do! The Mystic Marinelife Aquarium (I-95 exit 90) has over 50 exhibits, a Penguin Pavilion and a 1,400-seat Marine Theatre. Mystic Seaport Museum is another must stop! You’ll find 17 acrea of historic homes, shops and trade buildings that display life in a 19th century seaport. Take a half-day or sunset cruise… Voyager Cruises leaves from Steamboat Wharf downtown Shopping is an adventure at the Olde Mistick Village (I-95 exit 90) with 60 specialty shops and restaurants set in a Colonial New England atmosphere. For something entirely different, try your luck at Foxwood Casino Resort just a few minutes away in Ledyard.

Mystic is a seaport town located on the Atlantic Ocean. I-95 runs just to the north of town. Exits 89, 90 and 91 will get you into the Mystic area. US Route 1. which runs parallel to I-95 passes through Mystic.

Home of many of the worlds everyday products like Bic pens, Razors and Lighters,Home of Shick Razors. If my memory serves me correctly Subway was started here too. This Interesting New England City was where the First Flea Market was set up in a Drive-in Theater. The Lobster Roll was first created in Milford at Perry’s Restaurant on US-1 by Harry B. Perry. Milford’s Beaches are the nicest in Connecticut and the Sandbar to Charles Island is the best for fishing for Bluefish. There is much History here and the people are down to earth and the Silver Sands area of the Long Island Sound is sheltered from large waves making it a very nice family area.

Exiting off of I-95 you will find the 2 best areas for accommodations at Us-1 heading North you would find the Devon exit has a hotel conveniently at the ramp with a fast food restaurant there also. Heading South you would find first US-1 near the Connecticut Post Shopping Mall several hotels to accommodate your needs. I recommend the Holiday inn just North on US-1 where the food is nice and there are several fast food places nearby or if you plan to stay a while and visit the Howard Johnson Motor lodge right at the exit.

I have always heard the Praises of this great seafood Restaurant and when I ate there I knew I found a home. Consistently recognized as the Best Seafood Restaurant in Connecticut! Serving only the highest quality fresh fish and shellfish grilled or creatively sauced. Scribner’s has been serving its customers for 28 years, preparing all food on the premises. located at 31 village road you will find this Historical place.

The fishing is the best I have ever seen, who needs a boat here? My 3 favorite salt water fishing spots are at the mouth of the Milford Harbor where we have 2 Rivers emptying into the Long Island sound this area is loaded with shellfish and other forms of bait that attract Striped Bass and Bluefish, on the Southside of the Harbor is the best for Flounder and on the Sandbar to Charles Island as the tide changes anything can show up to cross the bar but be careful the current is deadly. These fishing areas are really great because as Dad fishes the family can play at the nicest beaches in the area.

That is the easiest way to our Downtown from there everything becomes easy to find. This New England City has a fantastic Green Downtown and in the Springtime the Chinese Cherry trees blossom with such a charm making this green look like a very special garden. Milford has many such greens where the locals love to enjoy the open spaces for winter Ice skating and spring picnics. Our Harbor is so sheltered and comes all the way into the Downtown area several miles inland.
