Welcome to Spring Hope, NC. Spring Hope is located off US 64 & on NC Hwy 581 & only 15 minutes west of I-95. Population for Spring Hope is about 2,000. Spring Hope has a newspaper: THE SPRING HOPE ENTERPRISE

Hotel accommodations are located in Rocky Mount, NC which is a 20 minute drive east of Spring Hope. Hotels in the Rocky Mount area include: Residence Inn, Holiday Inn & Hampton Inn. At I-95 Exit 121 (30 minutes from Spring Hope) are Jameson Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

Burger King, Subway, No 1 Chinese, Roma’s Pizza, & Country Inn are some great restaurants in Spring Hope that have a very great taste.

The National Pumpkin Festival is one of my favorite festivals to attend to every year which is held on the 1st weekend in October. A carnival w/ rides, arts & crafts, food, music, and of course, the parade. The Parade includes Marching Bands from Southern Nash, Northern Nash, & more from the Rocky Mount/Nashville area, floats, school clubs, and more. To kickoff the Pumpkin Festival each year, a Miss & Little Miss Pumpkin Queen pagent Show is held. Spring Hope also has a town museum, a public library, an attorney at law, 10 Minutes south of Spring Hope, you’ll wind in Bailey, NC. The Country Doctor Museum in Bailey is the only museum in the nation to honor the country doctors.

Spring Hope has easy access to get to from I-95. From I-95, take exit 138 & Take US 64 WEST towards Nashville & Raleigh. Go to 5th exit (NC 581 SPRING HOPE/BAILEY) Turn right onto NC 581 NORTH & you will end up in Spring Hope. Planning to move to Spring Hope? Spring Hope has 3 public schools: Spring Hope Elementary, Southern Nash Middle, and Southern Nash Senior High. If looking for a great place to worship, Ephesus Baptist Church & more great churches in the Spring Hope area to attend.

Located along I-95 & US 64, this large city has many things todo. It is on the Nash/Edgecombe County line. If you didn’t know, Jazz great Thelanius Monk was born here in 1917. Rocky Mount has a 2-3 major hospitials. Rocky Mount has 3 major radio stations: FM – 95.5 WKTC (KATIE COUNTRY), 98.5 WSAY (DOWN EAST COUNTRY), and New Mix 99.7, and Oldies 107.9 WNCT (WNCT is based out of Greenville, NC)

Along I-95, there are 3 main exits: Exit 145, Exit 141, and Exit 138. At Exit 145, you will find a Shoney’s Inn, a Howard Johnson, Inn, and a Ramada Inn. At Exit 141, you will find a Holiday Inn. At Exit 138, you will find a Hampton Inn, a Holiday Inn, and Comfort Inn, a Best Western, a Fairfield Inn, and a Residence Inn.

In Rocky Mount, there are 115 restaurants, such as Golden Corral, Outback Steakhouse, Hing Ta, The Mayflower Seafood Restrauant, Texas Steakhouse and Saloon, Ryan’s, Chico’s, and there are many more.

In Rocky Mount, there are many places to visit. You might want to check out the City Lake Park. Located on Sunset Avenue, this park is really incredible. Also you might want to see is The Children’s Museum, the Braswell Library, and there are many more to list.

On the 2nd weekend in October, Rocky Mount has the annual “Down East Festival”. Held in downtown Rocky Mount, this citywide event has many arts and crafts, live music, and of course, free food. To get to Rocky Mount, just take I-95 to exit 138/US 64, take US 64 EAST straight into town.

Nash County, North Carolina is located along the I-95 corridor between Wilson and Roanoke Rapids. If you are a first-time visitor, this would be the perfect family vacation for your family.

Exits 138, 141, and 145 off of I-95 offer some great accommodations for the perfect family vacation. Visit Rocky Mount’s Tourism website for some great places to stay.

Nash County offers over a bunch of different places to eat. My reccomendation is the Showside Restaurant that just opened in downtown Spring Hope. I also would say that Hing Ta Chinese in Rocky Mount offers a wonderful cuisine of fine Chinese food. You can check out Rocky Mount’s Tourism page on the bottom of the screen for more places to eat and dine.

There are many things to do in Nash County. For example, the Country Doctors Museum in Bailey shows off on the County Doctors in the early days. On the 1st weekend in October, visit Spring Hope for the National Pumpkin Festival which draws thousands of visitors every year. On the 2nd weekend in October, the Down East Festival in Rocky Mount kicks off the fall season in Rocky Mount. In May on the 2nd weekend, the Blooming Festival in Nashville is a great time to get out and enjow some great food and music. On the 2nd weekend in November, its the annual Dan Finch Pottery Festival in Bailey.

Nash County is easily located in the Heart of Carolina. Access to the county is easy. I-95, US 64, US 264, US 301, NC HWY 581 are some of the easy access to the county. If you are moving to the area, make sure you visit the Tourism website.

At first glance Goldsboro, North Carolina looks quiet and some what reserved, you get the feeling of wanting to settle down and maybe raising a family here.

The hotel accommodations are modest giving you the feeling of tranquility and total relaxation. In my opinion hotels such as the Holiday Inn Express (located on 909 North Spence Avenue) in Goldsboro is quiet a romantic place if you have an imagination.

For the kid in all of us McDonald’s on Berkeley Boulevard and Herman Street in Goldsboro is very good. For those who love to eat some good ole’ fried chicken, barbeque, collards with that fat back chopped up in it with potatoe salad, ribs, chitterlings, candy yams, macaroni & cheese, chicken pastry, corn bread with a cold glass on lemonade, and family (OOOOOWEE!)

We have the Berkeley Mall on Berkeley Boulevard located in Goldsboro N.C. Going to parties is a who you know when you get here being family, friends, or old aquaintances you met along the way. We also have historical buildings down Center Street.

In Goldsboro one way of getting around is on the Gateway Bus System that is available to those who don’t have transportation of their own or if you want to ride to give that new or old car home and ride for a $1.00.

Fayetteville, NC is a convienient stop mid way between NYC and the upper northeastern states and the vacation meccas of Orlando and southern Florida. Often maligned by reporters and even novelists, Fayetteville is a beautiful, historic place, a larger city with a small-town feel. The population of the area is diverse, ranging from down-home Southerners to international denziens courtesy the close promixation to Ft. Bragg Army installation and Pope Air Force Base.

Along the I-95 corridor there are a variety of chain lodgings such as Holiday Inn, Clarion and Comfort Inn. For the RV’er, there is a nice KOA Kampground just north of town. If you are more interested in venturing further away from the corridor, the Radisson Prince Charles is a lovingly restored, beautiful historical hotel located in revitalized down town Fayetteville. It is like spending an evening in the past. Farther in, in the Cross Creek Mall shopping area one can find Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn and a Comfort Inn.

The variety of chain restaurants in the I-95 area of Fayetteville is plentiful. Most well-known fast food establishments such as Burger King and Wendy’s are represented within yards of the highway. A Cracker Barrel is just off the road, and most hotels in the area have restaurants located in the building or very nearby. Farther into town, favorites such as Outback Steakhouse, Applebies and Bennigans may be found. Some local independant establishments worthy of mention are Hunan Gardens on Raeford Road for Chinese, Chris’ Steakhouse on Raeford Road, and Mi Casita Mexican at seveal locations in the Fayetteville area.

Fayetteville is an excellent sigh seeing opportunity. Many historic building survive in the down town area, most notably the Markethouse. Built in 1832 for local farmers to sell their wares, the Markethouse still stands in downtown Fayetteville as a proud symbol of our long history. Also in the down town area are Cool Springs Street Tavern, circa 1788, Liberty Point where Revolutionaries gathered to sign a declaration of independance from Great Britan, and Cross Creek Cemetary, with graves dating back to the mid 1700’s. There are also several museums to see: the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in down town is the newest attraction in the area. With interactive flight and parachute simulators, displays, and real life airborne paratrooper guides, the museum is a must-see. The Museum of The Cape Fear is dedicated to the history of Fayetteville, uncluding the 1897 Poe House and Arsenal Park ( The Fayetteville Arsenal was key to weapon production in the US & Confederate armies until it’s destruction by Sherman in the Civil War). Fayetteville is also the proud home of The Fayetteville Museum of Art, Fascinate-U Children’s Museum, THe Crown Coliseum ( hosting sporting, cultural and pop music events) and a host of libraries, night clubs, and shopping.

The main corridors to Fayetteville from the I-95 area would be Owen Drive and Cedar Creek road. Those seeking the down town area would be advised to take the Cedar Creek road exits. Those with intentions toward the Cross Creek Mall area would need to take the main Fayetteville exit and choose the Owen drive exit, or 301 area. Routes to hospitals are marked with the familar blue “H” and most attractions have brown or green guide signs. To reach Ft. Bragg one must exit at the 301 exit, turn left on Grove street and continue until they reach the intersection of Bragg Blvd. A left turn here will carry you to the main gates of the post.

Fairmont is a historic tobacco community that welcomes visitors to play golf, visit antique shops and tour an art gallery and manufacturing plant. The Border Belt Tobacco Market is open during the months of July, August, September and October. Tourist from Canada and the East Coast of USA have enjoyed playing Flag Tree Golf Club for over 30 years.

I-95 Exit 20 & 22 offer Major fast food & leisure dining as well as hotels and motels. The Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn Suites, Fairfield Inn, Quality Inn & Days Inn are located at these exits in nearby Lumberton.

I-95 Exit 22 offers Denny’s, Ruby Tuesdays & Ryans Steakhouse. Exit 20 offers McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King, Wendy’s and Cracker Barrel. Local Favorites are John’s, Adelio’s and Pleasant Pizza.

Tee the ball high and let it fly straight down one of Flag Tree’s championship fairways! Golf is a year round activity and visitors are welcome to play everyday. Visiting Fairmont Art Productions will give you insight to modern art and the production of ready to paint canvas manufacturing. The town of Fairmont offers antique and gift shops. Fairmont’s level terrain makes walking a breeze. Y’all come now, you hear!

Take exit 10 off I-95 and travel east on Chicken Road to Highway 41 in Fairmont. Highway 41 runs through downtown and will intersect all major village streets. Stay on 41 until you intersect Highway 130 By-Pass. Turn left and you will find a championship golf course waiting for your foursome!

Bailey, in the heart of southern Nash County, located aprrox. 10 miles west of I-95 along US 264, this small country town home to approx. 560 people is growing slowly. Bailey is also home to football great Julius Peppers. Bailey has a elementary school & a high school. Bailey is located 13 miles west of Wilson, 25 miles from Rocky Mount, and 40 miles from Raleigh.

The nearest hotels are the Holiday Inn Express, The Sleep Inn, Comfort Inn, Microtel Inn, & the Jameson Inn, all located at I-95 Exit 121.

Try Hardees of Bailey at 316 W Deans Street, The Corner Grill at 6234 Main Street. For Interstate travelers try The Cracker Barrel & Aunt Sarah’s Pancake House, located at I-95 Exit 121.

The Country Doctor Museum, located at 6629 Vance St in Bailey, this is the only nation’s museum dedicated to the country doctors. There is a erb garden. The museum is open Tuesdays – Saturdays from 10AM – 4PM. Closed Sundays. Woodrow Park in Bailey, just off US 264, has a playground for children, 3-6 baseball fields, & a walking track. The park is located on Elm Street.

Coming up from the North, take I-95 South to exit 121/US 264. Turn right onto 264 west and follow signs to Bailey. Coming from the south, take I-95 NORTH to exit 119/TO US 264 West Take Raleigh ramp.
